Apologetics Against Mormons
Saturday December 31, 2005
Well, here it goes. This blog spot is for discussion in relation to the Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible, or the King James Version of the bible published by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). Here you can either attempt to prove the works cited above, or prove the christian bible through textual criticism, archeology, historical criticism, linguistics, or any other mode of study that would be to your benefit as long as it is truthful and correct.
A statement of what your faith is and what you intend to prove through your statements is required in order to post in this section.

In all conversations, whether it be religious, philisophical, or scientific, there is a congruancy of logic that must take place in order for proper communication to be given and received. Logic is a science. More and more people are beginning to realize this but there is still a vastness of un-explored practicality that still has their doors open for discussion. This is for the topic of that logic and it's practicality. Please don't hesitate to post any discussions about references to this topic or personal insights into this matter, even if there is a heated debate going on. Please don't debate if you don't really know what you are doing.

I was thinking recently that there is a mighty effort among Christians to convert the Mormon or other religious people before inviting them to do a bible study. More than likely they are either afriad of being deceived by false doctrine or they are unwilling to reach out and disciple and meet those people where they are at. I have created this section of the blog to create a study of God's word where Mormon's and Christians can study the Word of God together and put there comments and thoughts in. This is not a place to convince another of their wrong doings or discuss doctrines. This is a bible study where your thoughts or comments can be seen for what they are.
Don't teach religion here please, comment on the text and how it speaks to you specifically.
Our first study will be in the book of Mark. Please read Chapter One and tell me what you think. The Chapter is posted within this stream.

Welcome to Apologetics Against Mormons (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)
This blog is for discussion in regards to the religion of Mormonism. I am a Pentecostal Christian who is obtaining a BA in Ministerial Studies. I was formerly Mormon who accepted Christ in my life at age 18. I left the church and was baptised at a Calvary Chapel Church, soon after joining the Army Reserves. A Few years after the Army Reserves I started attending school trying to obtain my degree in Psychology. God met me one sunday after noon and challenged me to make a commitment to my faith and go the full mile. I did, and that is why I am in school now getting my BA In Ministerial Studies.
My immediate family and my extended family (for the most part) are all Mormon. For the Five, almost Six years that I have been a Christian I have been witnessing the truth to them and others around me in my life's journey. This does not make me perfect or more righteous. This does not make me able to stand in the gap as Christ did and forgive their sins. This does not justify any wickedness within me. However the inevitable conviction remains that the delcaration of truth must be given to those bound by the false religion of Mormonism. That is what this blog is for, Apologetics Against Mormons.
------------ Below is a list of what I believe. ------------
I believe by faith that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That He died for my sins and rose again on the third day, ascending into heaven being given all authority from the father to forgive, judge, and bless whom He wills.
I believe in the Mordern Cannon of scripture known as the Christian Bible, composing of 66 Books in the Old Testament and 37 in the New Testament. All of which are inspired by God and profitable for instruction, reproof, and correction.
I believe that Prayer, Worship, Communion, Fellowship, Fasting, and the Reading of God's word are the most essential aspects of commitment to Christ's death and resurrection, the Reading of God's word taking first priority over all.
I believe in evangalizing to the world under the great commission, making disciples, baptising, and proclaiming that Jesus Christ will always be with us who believe.
I believe and promote the Unity of the Christian Church. That in order to be saved we must believe in Christ's name only and no other, and that believing means not only professing with our lips that Christ is savior, but living like Christ is Lord.
------------ Below is a list of What I do not believe. ------------
I do not believe in the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covanents, Pearl of Great Price (Book of Abraham & Book of Moses), or anyother work other than the Bible for the godly edificatin of my spirit from God.
I do not believe in Joseph Smith or any other Mormon Leaders including their Words or their actions. I believe solely upon the Word of Jesus Christ which is the Bible.
I do not believe in a priesthood order that administers ordinances of salvation. I believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone in Christ and that practices and rituals have no authority within themselves.
------------ What this blog is for. ------------
Discussion in regards to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormons). Please do not include foul language or inuendos, any pornographic material, or other illegal material. It will be deleted without question.
Please be rationalistic and logical in the conversation. Reference your posts with scriptures backing it up.
